Global

According to data released by the World Stainless Steel Association on July 12, 2024, the global crude stainless steel production in the first quarter of 2024 was 14.585 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.5%, and a decrease of 1.3% from the fourth quarter of 2023. In the first half of 2024, the global crude stainless steel production reached 30.370 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.3%.

China

In the first half of 2024, the crude stainless steel production in mainland China was 18.750 million tons, an increase of 1.041 million tons over the same period last year, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%, accounting for 61.74% of the world's total crude stainless steel production. According to the forecast released by market information 51bxg, China's crude stainless steel production will reach 40.08 million tons in 2024.

Europe

In the first quarter of 2024, Europe's stainless steel production was 1.558 million tons, down 4.8% year-on-year and up 3.7% month-on-month; in the first half of 2024, Europe's stainless steel crude steel production was 3.139 million tons, up 0.3% year-on-year, accounting for 10.34% of the world's total stainless steel crude steel production.

United States

In the first quarter of 2024, the United States' stainless steel production was 509,000 tons, up 6.5% year-on-year and 15.8% month-on-month respectively; in the first half of 2024, the United States' stainless steel crude steel production was 1.027 million tons, up 9.0% year-on-year, accounting for 3.38% of the world's total stainless steel crude steel production.

Asia (excluding China and South Korea)

In the first quarter of 2024, the output of stainless steel in Asia (excluding China and South Korea) was 1.842 million tons, an increase of 12.9% year-on-year and a decrease of 5.2% month-on-month; in the first half of 2024, the output of crude stainless steel in Asia (excluding China and South Korea) was 3.617 million tons, an increase of 9.0%
